The Vaganova Method: Ballet Techniques

At Anastassia Ballroom & Dance, we offer a ballet technique and ballet training program called the Vaganova Method. This is a Russian dance pedagogy that fuses ballet dance elements with coordination techniques to promote entire body movement. This ballet dance method improves strength and range of traditional ballet dancers and involves the whole body in every motion with total emphasis on body, legs and arms. The Vaganova method heightens dance artistry and expressionism.

Why the Vaganova Method? We find our students are more versatile dancers with this ballet training approach. Our dancers develop classical ballet dance skills with nuanced choreography and techniques for the whole body. Our ballet dance lessons include character dance, modern dance and special choreography to increase posture, training, and strength of the ballet dancer. Basic forms must be mastered before the ballet dancer attempts more advanced techniques and difficult versatile ballet techniques.

For more advanced students, our grand master Vladimir can provide choreography for a structured pas de deux.
